One
day after school, I saw my Mom scrutinizing 3 small green boxes on her hands.
She was reading the texts carefully while I was innocently looking at the
numbers 1, 2, 3 labeled on them. I told myself that the number 1 box must be
the best. I asked what are those for and she told me lovingly that the mini
bottles inside will make her face more beautiful. Being a 90s kid who’s naive
with beauty standards of that time, I did not understand what she meant. I
watched as my mom religiously apply those liquids on her face. Then one night, the face she was taking care of became red and tender.
She finally let go of those horrible astringent products.
I think women of today are very lucky to have resources when it comes to skincare options. Long before internet and social media, we rely most of the time on what is heavily advertised on TV. Korean beauty products aren’t shown on local television even at present time but their campaigns on internet reach more people enough to be known in most households. Kbeauty products are on the rise today and not only they are effective, they are pretty affordable too.
Now if I were to go back in time, these are the KBeauty skincare goodies which I have tried and tested and will give to my younger Mom.
Laneige Clear C Peeling Mask - This wash off mask comes in a cute and sturdy pink jar. It has a wonderful yogurt-like texture which has strawberry seeds that gently exfoliates and does not make the skin dry at the same time. It may be a little pricey for a mask but I think it's worth it thinking how it leaves my face fresh, soft, and every time I use this product.
