Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun SPF50+ PA++++ Review

If I am being honest, I only started to use a stand-alone sunscreen product in my skincare routine this year. Sorry if this statement made you flinch! Haha! I am on my early 30s so imagine how many years had gone without proper protection from the sun. Although I use sunblock immensely during beach trips, I thought daily UV defense from tinted moisturizers and compact powder will already suffice.

I saw a brand in Instagram called Purito and if I were to choose a product for hashtag: #InstagramMadeMeBuy, this is it: Centella Green Level Safe Sun SPF50+ PA++++.

Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun SPF50+ PA++++

Purito is Korean beauty brand which intends to deliver high-level skincare without harmful ingredients and additives such as parabens. "Purito" was derived from two words: puri (purify) and to (a term for soil). It promises to bring 'safe and honest' products to the table which are EWG certified, vegan and cruelty-free.

Key ingredients:
  • Centella Asiatica - This is a plant-derived anti-oxidant which calms and strengthens skin, improves circulation and speeds up healing.
  • Hyaluronic Acid - Also known as hyaluronan, this ingredient retains water to the skin making it moist and supple.
Application: After my morning skincare routine, I gently apply the cream onto my face, neck and arms. It works well under foundation and even tinted moisturizer.

Observation: If I have not read that Purito does not put up fancy packaging, I may have been disappointed with the how the box looks like when it arrived in the mail. Anyhow, I have no complaint with the minimalist-looking 60 ml container tube. It also offers a decent SPF of 50+. Now here are my comments about this sunscreen:

It's good because...

1. it does not leave white cast on the face.
2. it moisturizes the skin after application. It has a little bit of stuffiness to be honest but not uncomfortable and wears off under make-up.
3. The package box is made from recycled materials so it’s environment-friendly.
4. it does not react with my eczema-sensitive hands due to the calming properties of the sunscreen.

Even better if...

1. it’s water-resistant. That means people who are living in a tropical country and those who sweat a lot should reapply more often than usual.
2. it has a nicer scent. This is a subjective comment: I am not a fan of its fragrance because it reminds me of topical medicine. No wonder I'm seeing people who prefers the unscented version more.

Conclusion: The fact that Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun does not trigger my eczema condition is a huge factor for me. It has everything that a person needs for sun protection and moisture. I also love that the ingredients are natural and safe. However, I think I will get its unscented version right after finishing this product.
