Pinctada South Sea Pearl Soap Review

I like that I am discovering more and more local products. Here's another item gifted to me for an honest review: Pinctada South Sea Pearl Soap! I remember using Korean sheet masks with pearl ingredients and it's fascinating to know that there's a local brand doing the same. Not just that, the pearl powder used in this handcrafted soap came from our very own pearl farms in Palawan.

Pinctada South Sea Pearl Soap

This soap aims to cleanse and rejuvenate the skin making it healthier and glowing.

Key ingredients:
  • Pearl powder - brightens, protects the skin from free radical stress and promotes healthy collagen production

Application: I don't use bar soaps for my face so I use this on my body.

Observation: When I saw the bar soaps for the first time, I can't help but admire the packaging - it's looks pricey and beautiful! There's an engraved pearl on the 100g soap which added few points to its aesthetics. The soap smells nice and it foams up easily during shower.

It's good because...
  1. it cleanses my skin thoroughly without drying.
  2. the scent of the soap feels relaxing. Who wouldn't want a relaxing moment in the shower?
  3. it makes my skin soft and smooth.

Even better if...
the soap is not too strong on the skin. While our staple Filipino bath soap Safeguard has pH level of 9-10, South Sea Pearl Soap is at 8-9.

Conclusion: While it's true that pH determines which products may be irritating to the skin, in general, we should still be able to use soaps as our skin can quickly recuperate from pH change. South Sea Pearl Soap mostly provides good skin benefits but because the skin on our face is thinner and more sensitive, I recommend to use it on the body only.

You can purchase the soap at Beauty MNL for P325.
